Hi, I’m Dr. Patty Inglese…
… psychologist, coach, and fellow-human. While that last bit may seem obvious (or maybe not given the current potential of AI), it is by far the most important aspect of who I am - a source of grounding and constancy from which every other part of me grows. Living within the inherent chaos of today’s hyperconnected world, we often lose touch with our greatest source of strength, joy, connectedness and vitality … our humanness.
My career has spanned industries, organizational cultures and roles, specializing in people and team development, education, research and behavior change, technology design and development. I have been equally blessed with diverse opportunities in my life including living abroad, traveling extensively, pursuing various educational paths, raising children, and meeting so many people who have enriched my life and perspectives. The through line in all of it is my own humanness - natural curiosity, love of learning, a thirst for change born of a drive to grow and a love and fascination for people. Leaning into my humanness has led to a honed ability to to make connections across seemingly disparate contexts, … mostly because I don’t believe in disparate contexts … everything is connected.
Of course, there are two sides to every story - even the ones we tell ourselves. So, let me share the other side of my story.
My experience of my life and career over the years was largely characterized by anxiety, dissatisfaction and negativity. I have always tried exhaustively - to do what I needed to do and be who I needed to be - sometimes I succeeded, sometimes I failed, but I always felt depleted and disappointed in myself and everyone around me. I say none of this because I’m proud - only because it’s honest. Today, I see it differently; I’ve never been happier, healthier and excited about my life and career, despite the fact that nothing externally has changed. I no longer spiral with anxiety or entertain the negative voice in my head telling me how inadequate I am and my lifelong compulsions have lost their power over me. I feel energized and an ease I’ve never known. If I cling to one regret, it’s that it took me so long to learn how to live - to love a life I have been blessed to have. Perhaps you’re asking, “What changed?” and I will tell you …. Coaching. Coaching changed the way I see things; changed the way I exist in the world.
So while your background, goals, and issues are different, I’d bet we’re more similar than different because we all fall victim to the automatic programming and patterns of our life, and we all want to live a life we love.
With an open and insightful nature, direct communication style and ability to see the humor in almost anything, I work with individuals, leaders and teams toward a deeper understanding of themselves and others that often leads to greater appreciation, authenticity, collaboration and satisfaction in their life and work by embracing what makes us all Deeply Human.
